Well if THIS Isn’t the Most Relatable Disney World Story Ever Told…

What do you tell your friends and family when you get home from a trip to Disney World?

Cinderella Castle

Did you mention how hot it was? Did you tell them that it was crowded? At the end of the story do you tell them that it was the best trip ever and you can’t wait to go again? Yeah, us too! A TV star recently shared a similar story that we can all relate to!

Recently season seven of Netflix’s popular show Somebody Feed Phil premiered, and there is an episode about Orlando!

In the introduction of the episode, Phil Rosenthal recalls his first trip to Disney World. He said that in 1972, his parents said that they would be taking a trip to Florida, and what opened the year prior in 1971? Disney World! Phil and his brother, Richard, begged their parents to let them visit during their trip, and after eight months their parents agreed to let them visit the park for one day!

During his trip in 1972, he recalls that it was very hot, and very crowded, and while they were waiting in line for an attraction, his mother asked him a question that Disney Adults get asked all the time, “Do you like this?” Phil responded by saying “This is the best day of my life!” This is a story that we can all relate to!

During the episode, Phil visits Gideon’s Bakehouse, which we can’t blame him for wanting to try! Phil said “Everyone who comes to Orlando knows Gideon’s. We agree, have you seen those lines at Disney Springs?

Phil visited the location at the East End Market in Orlando and met with the creator and founder, Steve Lewis. Lewis tells Phil that each cookie weighs close to half a pound and takes over 24 hours to prepare. Phil is shocked when he tries the cookie and it is not a sugar bomb. Lewis explains that his goal is to create a more “balanced experience” and more of a “rich cookie” since anyone can make a mouth full of sugar. Lewis mentions that he is the “most local of local businesses,” and he has a spot at Disney.

As soon as we watched this episode and heard Phil’s Disney World story we knew we related right away! This episode covered the “Real Orlando,” and we wonder if Phil will ever come back and do an episode on theme park food.
