Competing for a cause: Pickleball tournament to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank

A local food bank stands to benefit from the pickleball craze that’s exploding in Central Florida.

Orlando Advanced Pickleball and Orlando Racket Sports have teamed up for a two-day tournament to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

“Every participant that registers for this tournament will be providing 40 meals for our community during their most challenging times,” Dave John, founder of Orlando Advanced Pickleball, said in a statement.

The tournament will be held on June 1 and 2 at Orlando Racket Sports at 7059 S. Orange Blossom Trail.

It’s a round robin format with brackets to accommodate every skill level.
